Who We Are

Green Valley Baptist Church is a family. We are a family of believers who love God and desire to share His love with others. We are located in Green Valley right in the heart of Las Vegas. As a family we have people of all age groups from our preschool ministry to our Prime Timers (Sr. Adults). We are a multi-racial church with people from different backgrounds and cultures but we are united in our love for God and our desire to make a difference in Las Vegas for the Kingdom of God.

What We Are About

Our purpose statement is "Making a Difference in Las Vegas for the Kingdom of God." This is our purpose as a church. How will we do this? Loving God Forever, Growing in God Together and Living for God Wherever. Loving God Forever is Worship. Growing in God Together is spiritual growth through Connect Groups. Living for God Wherever is serving God in the church and in the world. It's really very simple. We want Green

Valley to be a place where we focus on these three things so that together we can make
a difference in Las Vegas for the Kingdom of God.

Our Story

As a mission of College Park Baptist Church in Las Vegas, a few families began a home bible study in 1980. This small group later moved into a funeral home and in 1982, the group moved into a store front. Russ Daines was the first "official" pastor. He was followed by Earl Green, a fireman and bi vocational pastor. Property was purchased in Green Valley and the roots of our present church began to sprout. Frank Lewis became

the first full time pastor and under his leadership, the church began to grow.

For the past fifteen years the family of faith known as "Green Valley Baptist Church" has continued to meet in our present location right in the heart of Green Valley. What began as a neighborhood bible study, has grown into a regional outreach as our worship attendance is well over 1,000 people each week. As we reflect on our past, we look forward to the future as God continues to pour out his favor on our church family. Our pastor describes us as "A Great BIG, small Church." We are big enough to be able to offer a wide scope of ministries and activities and small enough to make you feel like you are part of a family.

Now that you know a little about our past, we invite you to become a part of our future. Under God's direction, we will continue to grow to reach out to our city. These growth plans include updating our present facilities to their full capacity. In addition, we are praying about a satellite campus in the next few years that will help us further the Gospel to a different part of our city. As we grow, G.V.B.C. will always remain committed to our purpose which is "Making a Difference in Las Vegas for the Kingdom of God."
